Bitter Dregs

My friend and co-worker Dave Atkinson has been selling original songs (a.k.a. MOriginal Love Songs) in exchange for Movember donations this month. Rather than an original song, I requested a cover for my donation. Check it out (explanation first, song beings at 1:10).

As mentioned, the original song comes from a bizarro episode of Star Trek in which Spock is forced to sing Bitter Dregs. Here’s that clip.

The best commercials of the 2012 Olympics

If you’ve followed my blog at all, you’ve probably been able to deduce that I’m not much of a sports fan. However, since I was a kid, I’ve always watched and followed the Olympics with as much passion as a hockey mom at the local rink.

This year was no exception. We welcomed Brian Williams into our living room every night, and followed the drama live during the day when we could. That also means we heard a lot of words from CTV’s broadcast sponsors. Some recent ‘Draw Something’ sketches.

I’ve been playing Draw Something for a few weeks now. Sometimes, I take the scenic route and enjoy a few extra minutes sketching for my partners.

I’m testing some things.

I’m testing a few things on my blog over the next few days/weeks/moons, namely working on adding Post Format support or theme-by-category magic in my Thematic child theme. RSS followers will probably see some test posts appear and disappear as I play with it. I’ll try not to make them too annoying. Merci.

The best supporting character on television.

Boardwalk Empire‘s Richard Harrow is one of the coolest and deepest characters on television. If you’ve never watched the show, season one is a bit slow, but as with all HBO series, it pays off in the second, particularly as Richard becomes a more prominent fixture. He’s played perfectly by Jack Huston.
